"ALL ABOARD for this saucy and splendid production of Roundabout Theatre Company's ANYTHING GOES, winner of three 2011 Tony Awards® including Best Musical Revival and Choreography! One of the greatest musicals in theater history, Cole Porter's first-class musical comedy is sailing to Chicago, starring critically-acclaimed actress Rachel York as Reno Sweeney and directed and choreographed by Tony Award® winner Kathleen Marshall. The New York Times calls it "Musical-Comedy Joy" and USA Today hails it as "Glorious and Exhuberant!" When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love…proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Peppering this timeless classic are some of musical theatre's most memorable standards, including "I Get A Kick Out Of You," "You're the Top," and of course, "Anything Goes." Don't miss what the AP exclaims as, "So Delightful, So Delicious, So De-Lovely!"
the production exceeded my expectations. great music, great acting, one great evening of entertainment. I really enjoyed it.
Great show, and even more so because of Rachel York. What a talent.
Great Show. The dancing was fantastic! The singing was all good and the costumes were good as well.
Didn't know what to expect and were given a truly great Broadway Show. Hysterically funny, great singing and dancing. Rachel York was fabulous, as the rest of the cast.
a talented cast and Cole porter music is hard to beat. The dance numbers were especially great. and fun!
After having directed the pit for many musicals, this was a treat. All aspects of the show were great. I loved the interplay between the actors. Anything Goes is extremely line-driven. Someone was sets up a punch line over and over during the show. It is very funny. The whole show takes place on a ship heading from the USA to England. Lots of laughs and unfortunate situations! The star of the show had a phenomenal voice. She belted out all of the songs with gusto. I would definitely go see this show again.
We love all the new shows and see almost all of them, but once in a while it is just pure fun to see some classic Broadway with familiar songs and big production tap dance numbers. Had a great time!!
Acting - Wow! Tap dancing - Thriling. Singing - Wonderful. Overall this musical was one of the best i've ever seen. The female lead had a strong, very pleasant voice and could dance with the best hoofers ever. She tap danced for 10 minutes along with the entire company and then sang and was not out of breath. Really a talented lead. As you can tell. I genuinely enjoyed Anything Goes. The whole show was great.
Rachel York (lead) -as always- made the show. Great music. Great energy. Cole Porter would be proud.
Very professional cast. Good orchestra. Enthusiastic audience. A VERY enjoyable evening.
