BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hailing from Australia, Angus Stone got his start in music at an early age -- he became interested in writing his own songs at just 14 and taught himself guitar in the process. After experimenting with his sound he started playing open mic nights and collaborating with his sister Julia, and the pair formed a duo in 2006. They broke out with their debut LP A Book Like This a year later, securing a Top 10 spot on the ARIA charts and launching to stardom. The pair headed out on tour to support the release, but while on the road Angus decided he wanted to pursue a solo career and write material that was more rock-driven. He released Smoking Gun in 2009 under the moniker Lady of the Sunshine, and the album featured the hit track "Big Jet Plane" that was later used for Angus and Julia Stone's sophomore LP Down the Way. Since then, Angus released his second solo album Broken Brights in 2012 and earned major praise from critics and fans alike. With two acclaimed records, several sold-out world tours, and five ARIA Awards under his belt, Angus Stone has proven to be a shining singer-songwriter who always amazes fans with his emotional music and charming stage presence at his can't-miss shows.
