What a concert! It was like being in a time machine, transported back to the 80s. Such fun.
The evening started with Man Without Hats (only one of the Men showed up), and he was awesome. The band sounded great, and the sweating began. It was a hot night... made for dancing, and this band got it started.
Information Society was next and they were not quite so awesome, The lead dude was obviously unhappy with many things - the heat, his costume, the keyboardist - and made his displeasure obvious. The music was a little disjointed, but still fun.
Then... HOWARD JONES. OMG, Howard Jones. So fabulous: every song a hit and every one sounded amazing. He is such a professional, and his musicians were great, too. Just love him.
The evening ended with Andy Bell who was beyond adorable. He was the only performer who stripped down to his bare skin (at least his top half) throughout his show, and his sparkly leggings and sparkly heels and sparkly bustier were so cute. He sounded wonderful - that voice! - and played many of Erasure's hits. I felt sad that Vince Clark wasn't there to do their duets, but Andy was just fabulous. And his Fembots were lovely. I wish I looked that good in a leotard...
Overall, an awesome evening. Felt like I was 20 all over again, except for my wrinkles (and the dance-induced injuries).
