Wow - What a night. This show was essential if you were of age in the early to mid nineties. Stories from the cast creators were incredible - Artie (Toby Huss) stole the show. Great crowd, as I was expecting a fashion show from Williamsburg.
Thank you to the people who made this reunion possible. Seeing the AOPAP gang again was truly a dream come true, I had such a great time laughing and even crying(didn't realize it meant THAT much to me) seeing a show that I had so many fond memories of, makes me remember being a kid in the suburbs, am nostalgic for and that I can appreciate even more watching again as an adult. Thanks to everyone involved with the show for getting it even on the air and making such an impression on my life this event was like seeing old friends and being surrounded by other cool people that we all collectively grew up watching the show. I just wish it lasted longer and that we never had to say goodbye my little viking.
This was probably the best even that could have possibly happened ever! I only wish that it had gone on longer and was in a bigger space so the ENTIRE cast and crew could get on stage! It was awesome though to see bus driver stu and teddy just hanging out. I felt like I was in Wellsville! So glad this happened! Thanks cast and crew, AV Club and Bowery Ballroom for making this happen! So rad! Were they to put an event on again, instead of 2 separate q and a events I think having one longer celebration of all things pete would be really fun. party on wellsville!
A lot of people have already written about how The Adventures of Pete & Pete is the type of show that holds up well even after 17 years. The show was done with a remarkable amount of wit, boldness and integrity that made it honest and not cheesy. I do hope they do many more sessions like this, in different locations across the country, because for someone who watched this show avidly, this experience was amazing. The Cast and Crew gave great anecdotes, and even now they have a perfect chemistry. Beyond that, the night felt so incredibly inclusive, and the creators kept stressing that they had made the show for us, they were here for us, they wanted to produce something fun for us the fans of the show. Everyone was so eager to please and joke, not that they had to try hard. The whole night was nerdy, adorable and hilarious. I left the Bowery Ballroom with a huge smile on my face.
