    Disappointing

by ramrol on 5/9/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

The theatre is absolutely breathtaking. The parking and weather were great. But, so much expectation and so little given. She was a good actress but where's the funny? We so wanted to say the words along with her but she left us waiting, waiting, waiting for the good part. Many great stories about Lucy's life but just not the Lucy we wanted.

    The likeness was so believeable.

by Anonymous on 5/9/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

I had no idea exactly what to expect and it was amazing. Her looks and voice were so incredibly identical to Lucy's that I fiound myself gettignlosty and fallin into thinking it was her. Very well done and creative. I Love Lucy!

hAVING A BALL AT THE RIALTO

by CARLROSS on 5/8/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

This was a entertaining show for sure. Very convincing actress as Lucille Ball. Wish there was more old video clips of the subject titles discussed. I think most people around mentioned they should of included more of the older cast as Fred and Ethel but this show was a later day question and answer type setting which would work with those subjects. Still my wife and 14 year daughter did enjoy the show.

    Awesome

by jrgraham1 on 5/8/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

An Evening with Lucille Ball: Thank You For Asking was absolutely awesome. I have only had the experience of Ms. Ball through her television show "I Love Lucy." Susanne LaRusch did an excellent job bringing one of my favorite childhood stars to life.. right in front of me. I also enjoyed experiencing a peak into the life behind the glamour and tv screens. This is truly a show that you don't want to miss!

Not since Carrie Has a Production Been This Awful

by Pqqdle on 5/8/11Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

An Evening with Lucille Ball: Thank You for Asking was devoid of content and humor. The performance was horrendous as evidenced by the silence of the audience during the first act and the departure of a third of the audience at intermission. Usually one person shows offer insight into the lives and characters in an entertaining/unique way. This show does neither. Pauses where there was anticipated laughter were met with silence or subdued, faint mermers. The actress seemed to confuse volume with talent - starting out at a deafening screech followed by an embarassing decline. Theater booking personnel should actually see shows prior to booking them into local theaters such as the Rialto - bringing in duds such as this discourages season subcriptions.
