Unexpectedly good!
Palace Theatre New York - New York
There was much more dancing, even ballet than I had expected! The music was good, the actors talented, and the sets appropriate.

Great music and dancing in American In Paris
Palace Theatre New York - New York
Wonderful cast and great choreography and well as the singing. Almost maybe a little bit too much dancing. Was a little bit long but maybe because was not familiar with the story line.

Magical closing performance
Palace Theatre New York - New York
The entire experience was magical even though this was my fifth time seeing the show. The story telling in the opening ballet and the ballet at the end of Act One are beautifully done. Seeing Paris coming to life after the Liberation and the fast forward of Milo introducing Jerry around, the ballet rehearsal and Jerry and Lise meeting by the Seine is Beautiful. The scene at the Ball Des Beaux Arts makes a perfect ending to Act One. I relished in every moment knowing that this was the closing performance for Broadway. I am sure that knowing it was the last time to perform "Stairway to Paradise" made it extra important to Max von Essen which definitely showed in the performance and the spontaneous audience applause throughout the number. I am now awaiting what I am sure will be an equally spectacular tour lead by Garen Scribner and Sara Esty. I urge everyone to go see the tour when it hits your town. As a subscriber to Broadway in Portland (OR), I already have my seats for May! SEE THE TOUR, THIS SHOW IS MAGICAL.

We were so happy to have been able to see this show on it's next to last day. We had the matinee performance. What a treat. The dancing, singing, costumes, everything was wonderful. This was a top notch cast.

Triple Threats
Palace Theatre New York - New York
Triple threats are cast members who sing, dance and act. An American in Paris abounds in triple threats who seamlessly moved from lyrical ballet to Gershwin song standards. What talent! But if that wasn't enough, the sets were beautiful and transformed nearly instantaneously. But the best surprise to me was the new score and libretto. There were elements of Concerto in F, Rhapsody #2 and the Cuban Overture woven into the story and reminding us of the Gershwin genius.
2015 Tony Award® winner CHRISTOPHER WHEELDON directs and choreographs a remarkable company of 25 international and Broadway virtuosos as they bring the magic and romance of Paris into perfect harmony with Tony Award®-winning orchestrations of unforgettable works by GEORGE GERSHWIN AND IRA GERSHWIN, including such classics as “I’ll Build A Stairway to Paradise,” “I Got Rhythm” and “The Man I Love.”
Don’t miss this fresh and breathtakingly beautiful new musical about a young American soldier and a beautiful French girl in the four-time Tony Award®-winning production that earned more awards than any other musical in the 2014–15 season, including Best Musical of the Year from both the Outer Critics Circle and the Drama League. As the Wall Street Journal says, “Once you’ve seen it, you’ll find it hard to settle for less ever again.”
Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain time. The performance begins promptly at the time noted on your ticket. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.
