    Overall meh

by Little Edie Beale on 2/1/22Moore Theatre - Seattle

This ended up being more of an interview/Q&A with Amy Sedaris facilitated by an interviewer, than a show or performance. This was fine, but not something I would need to be in a live audience or pay money to watch. A more accurate description on the ticket page would have been great.

great talk/interview with Luke Burbank as a perfect fan & host. Great banter, appreciative audience and lively Q & A session. A perfect evening w/Ms. Sedaris.

    Nice nap

by Justmythoughts on 2/1/22Moore Theatre - Seattle

The show wasnt what I expected at all... misunderstanding is too small a word. But I thought she was going to entertain us with some stand up skit of her past characters. A joyful hope of some laughter, much needed after all the lockdown... here we are, our first post covid event and my husband and I both had an expensive nap in an uncomfortable seat lulled into a sweet slumber by her doing a life biography filled with name drops. I am grateful she enjoyed herself.

    A little disappointing

    by barb052 on 5/12/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I guess we misunderstood what the show was going to be but it was just Amy Sedaris being interviewed by a local comedian and laughs were few. It wasn't worth the price.

    Mediocre performance

by bostonlaurie on 5/12/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Was not impressed...kind of a cheap and easy way to do a show. An improv interview format, with occasional tidbits of humor. Riding on success of old Letterman interviews, but not much to it. Coupled with the terrible sound system that made hearing a challenge. A disappointing night.

Evening with Amy was sadly disappointing

by strangerswithcandy on 5/12/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

My friend and I are big Amy Sedaris fans - mostly through her genius work on Strangers with Candy. We assumed that the evening would be some sort of stand up/one woman show along the lines of Kathy Griffin. It wasn't clear to us that this was going to be an interview format with another comedienne/former intern of hers and a Q&A with the audience. It was fun to see Amy in person but we were disappointed and left wanting more. Unless you were a die-hard fan, references that would pop up to some of her lesser-known work were meaningless and furthered the frustration. We felt like we wasted $100 and had we known this would have been the format we wouldn't have spent the $.

    Big fat disappointment

by drparker on 5/12/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

This was an interview of Amy Sedaris, by some random woman comedian I had never heard of. She asked very basic questions that led to very little story telling by Amy. The MC spoke like he had marbles in his mouth and the sound in general was poor quality and all were hard to hear. They showed a movie/tribute to Amy and none of the people speaking in it gave their names, even as a caption. It was the biggest waste of $50 and the parking on top of it and the gas to Boston.

I loved seeing Amy but I did not expect the format to be an interview and the interviewer seemed so nervous that she did not really let the conversation flow naturally - she just kept hammering questions at her.

    Not what we were expecting

    by Skeptic1 on 5/12/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

We thought there would be some kind of stand up/performance involved. Maybe we didn't read the description enough, but we didn't realize the whole thing was going to be an interview.

    Not a great show

    by Annie401 on 5/12/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I bought tickets to An Evening With Amy Sedaris expecting she would be performing. But it was an award presentation and a Q + A with another comic who asked mostly Yes or No questions, and Amy barely had any chance to show her comedic skill. I was annoyed and bored. And the sound quality was poor. I couldn't hear the video they played and I was on the first level. Overall a disappointment, and I heard people around me saying the same.
