    Meet Virginia

by growlerhill on 9/5/18Virginia Beach - Virginia Beach

I bought a VIP ticket as soon as they went on sale. I highly suggest this since I was able to eat really good food, and had easy access to free sodas and other perks. The other advantage is the close proximity to the stage to see/hear the acts in a non-crowded environment. Even a few performers came backstage either just before their set, or soon after. Plus, parking at 2d Street was only $10.00 for the day and within easy walking distance to the main stage. Ziggy Marley, Plain White Ts, Goo Goo Dolls, Josephines, and ZZ Top were all in top form. I was also impressed by Ana Popovic (my first time seeing her perform).

Better than last year, but still room to improve

by bella1234 on 9/4/185th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

The setup for the viewing area was much better than prior years, with a larger stage and better space for the GA area. However, there is still a basic flaw in the timing, in that if you pay to see the main acts, you miss out on many of the free concerts. I'd love to see some type of a staggered schedule, or acts earlier in the day on the weekend.

    Molly Hatchet was real good.

by Skooter61 on 9/3/185th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

Goo Goo Dolls were Good but the language rough. Coasters & Drifter were great. Plain White T's were good. All in all concerts were good But we need more bands new bands that have not been there in a while,( ex. Chicago, or Mustang Sally would be another good one)

    AMF

by TripleDDD on 9/3/185th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

The venue and artist where awesome. Issue I had is for preferred viewing you play more and get less. Having no chairs and having to stand in the sand for hours on end is very hard on the back. Especially for older people. Chairs also take up less room than bringing a blanket to sit on make no since at all.

    Love this event

by buckyboo on 9/3/185th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

We have been coming for several years and we love it. You can wait until you get there to eat because they have great food and a large variety. They also have alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages and ice cold water. I would suggest that anyone who loves music to check out the line up for the paid stages and the free stages.

    Love it every year!

by Kuzain on 9/3/185th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

The best part about the AMF, besides being on the beach, is the shows are not typically ones I would have chosen to see on my own. However, every time I leave pleasantly surprised and pleased, and love the show. For example, this year I was really only excited to see the goo goo dolls (who were awesome), but Ziggy Marley and Soja were fabulous on Friday, and the plain white t's were really great opening for the goos. Where I was completely impressed, however, was the main show on Sunday night. Not only did ZZ Top blow me away, but the opening act, Anna Popovic was absolutely incredible. I had never even heard of her, and I would absolutely go see her again. So next time you get the chance to attend the AMF, do it. You won't be disappointed. It's a great value for the quality of shows you get.

    Good idea bad execution

by FromCleveland2 on 9/3/185th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

Bought a VIP ticket package. Included food , 2 drinks and stage front acres. Sounds good ? Food was good . Drinks were strong and good. There was front stage access. No place to sit . If u wanted to stay for the entire 3 nights open at 6 to 10:45 u had to stand . No chairs allowed. Not enough handicap seating or space. Loud and uniteligable music. Hot but that’s no ones fault. Holiday in express was old and dirty. The city was looking the same way. Getting anywhere was difficult. The ocean looked good . The beach is nice. Won’t be going back.

    Artist Selection Needs Improvement

by MyMel on 9/4/175th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

This festival has been primarily rock and roll but now not so much. Need to return to the rock and roll theme.

I was there for 3 Doors Down

by NorvaFannette on 9/4/175th Street Beach - Virginia Beach

Friday's concert was cancelled due to bad weather. It would have been nice if 311 was able to be added on Saturday or Sunday but I understand scheduling conflicts can occur. Anyway 3DD was amazing as usual!
