The concert was warm relief from our bitterly cold spring. The juxtaposition of Del McCoury's tenor and strings with the Preservation Hall's horns was a true success in every way. Such fun as well. Bluegrass deserves an indoor stage and concert hall, to appreciate its complexities. We saw Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers in Eau Claire's downtown theatre last year. Both events brought out the best in bluegrass.
At first glance, you might think bluegrass and dixieland jazz don't mix. They do. A real treat of excellent musicianship and traditional songs. Del McCoury and his band are very tight while the Preservation Hall Jazz Band weave together their sound as fluidly as melting ice. A great show.

My husband and I went to the American Legacies show in Appleton, WI. It was great -- all 90 minutes of it were completely enjoyable. Special guest Cory Chisel was also incredible! Love the show. Thank you so much to these two wonderful bands!
I absolutely loved this concert. The combo of New Orleans jazz and bluegrass was super. They all looked like they were having lots of fun. Very fun to watch and listen to.
