About

AMERICAN HI-FI IN CONCERT:

Beloved pop punk outfit American Hi-Fi has built a massive fanbase with driving, guitar-heavy anthems that combine the heart-on-sleeve approach of emo with the disenchantment of punk. Even when their catchy coming-of-age songs veer towards the melancholy, the band keeps the energy high with brisk drumming, distorted guitar, and the soaring vocals of frontman Stacy Jones. Whether they're tearing through newer material like 2014's "Golden State" or performing cuts from their self-titled 2001 debut, American Hi-Fi always bring a lightning bolt of energy to the stage, treating fans to an adrenaline-filled concert experience packed with powerful pop punk gems.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Stacy Jones, a veteran musician who previously played drums in alt-rock outfits Veruca Salt and Letters to Cleo, formed American Hi-Fi in 1998, originally naming the project BMX Girl before Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones convinced him to change it. Featuring Jones on vocals, American Hi-Fi quickly made a name for itself with high-octane performances and an airtight sound that emphasized catchy choruses and razor-sharp musicianship. The band's self-titled 2001 debut album was a massive success, topping Billboard's Heatseekers chart and scoring the band's first hit single "Flavor of the Week". Following extensive touring the band released their sophomore album The Art of Losing in 2003, once again climbing the charts with successful singles like "The Breakup Song". Three more hard-charging albums followed including 2014's Blood & Lemonade, a triumphant release that included the singles "Allison" and "Golden State". A seasoned touring act who've rocked audiences around the world, American Hi-Fi continue to treat ticket buyers to pop punk gold on their unforgettable tours.

Great songs and gorgeous band members!!!

This is the only music I allow in my car. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cake hole. Can't wait to see them again in concert! I'm probably a little biased, but I would say they are the best band with some of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Right up there with the classics like Rolling Stones.

One of the best rock bands of their generation!

by MetalBoi77 on 12/22/14Mercury Lounge - New York

For a band that hasn't toured in many years, American Hi-Fi sounded fantastic. This band needs to tour full-time. Their set list was great, although I would have liked to hear a couple of songs from the Hearts on Parade album. They played a mix of their punk, pop, and rock songs, as well as a Cheap Trick cover. Looking forward to seeing them again in 2015. If you are a fan of this band, don't miss their next performance. The singer and guitarist were nice enough to sign stuff and take pictures with fans after the show, but the staff at the Mercury Lounge kicked the fans out of the building before the other two band members came out.

I always figured that when Miley Cyrus rolled into town we may get an American Hi-Fi show... and we did. This was a very memorable evening. First time I saw the band and I was blown away. I hope when the new CD comes out they tour for it.
