Aspiring musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, rappers and spoken word artists try their best to please the audiences that can make them an Apollo Legend. Get ready to cheer or jeer as you decide who stays and who gets booted off stage. At Amateur Night, you tell the performers to be good or be gone!
Amateur Night at the Apollo is hosted by the comedian Capone. Each show begins with a festive pre-party featuring video and music by DJ Jess. Also, keep a lookout for master impressionist C.P. Lacey, the resident Executioner who sweeps bad talent off the stage.

by Fonk on 4/9/24The Apollo's Historic Theater - New YorkI have never visited the Apollo before - but the Amateaur night at the Apollo is world wide famous. It was even better than i expected! Excitering performances as well as some laughable ones. Over all good with great MC:s. A blast!

by PPL on 4/7/24The Apollo's Historic Theater - New YorkAmateur Night April 3rd 2024: was no security outside because it was raining? Impatient patrons kept cutting the 2 lines to get in... finally someone realized the show was starting so they just let everyone in without security checks but the damage was done when we got in and the show had already started despite arriving early. Great show and great venue but Amateur Security / organization for Amateur Night

by Caligirl4life on 4/6/24The Apollo's Historic Theater - New YorkMy son (17) and I (50) were visiting colleges on the east coast and I was trying to pick things we had not done before in NYC at a reasonable cost (broadway shows was not in our budget for this trip). We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, dancing and singing in our seats. It was great and refreshing to see true amateurs trying their best. The host was pretty entertaining too. If you are in NYC, I would definitely recommend attending amateur night at the APOLLO.
