BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Alpine’s joint frontwomen Lou James and Phoebe Baker met while attending high school outside of Melbourne, Australia. Once they graduated they enlisted Christian O’Brien (guitar), Ryan Lamb (bass), Tim Royal (keyboards), and Phil Tucker (drums) to form the indie sextet Swiss. To avoid confusion with the similarly named The Swiss, the group changed their name to Alpine before recording their 2010 debut EP Zurich. On the strength of hits like “Hands” and “Gasoline”, their 2012 debut full-length A Is for Alpine peaked at No. 1 on the Australian iTunes chart. The following year the group made their US television premier on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the North American release of A Is for Alpine. The band’s 2015 sophomore album Yuck received a similarly positive response, with standout singles like “Damn Baby” and “Foolish” converting even more listeners to the group’s rapidly growing fanbase. Alpine continues to captivate indie fans with their sugary sweet pop, unique visual style, and undeniably fun live performances on tour.
