About

Alison Krauss is largely responsible for keeping bluegrass music alive and well in the U.S., and she’s got the awards to prove it. The singer-songwriter has received 27 Grammy Awards, making her the most awarded female artist in all of Grammy history — not too shabby for 42 short years. Krauss is a nationwide favorite in concert and has been performing onstage since the early 90s and selling out tours across North America since the early 2000s. She loves taking the stage just as much as recording in the studio, and ticket holders get to hear her soulful, soothing soprano up close, in addition to seeing her expertly play the fiddle, piano and mandolin. Her last studio album was 1999's Forget About It, which hit No. 5 on the Top Country Albums chart.

This bluegrass-country singer has been writing and performing her own music since she was a teenager. She put out her first album with the highly acclaimed Union Station band in 1985 and has since released 14 albums. The star’s first album to rise to the Billboard chart’s was 1990's I’ve Got That Old Feeling, which also scored her first Grammy award. Her next few albums also saw massive success, then New Favorite came out in 2001 and solidified her career as a solid country and bluegrass artist. Lonely Runs Both Ways was released in 2004 and quickly became a gold-certified album. She received heaps of acclaim for her contribution to the successful "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack as well. Touted as being one of the most influential people in country music today, Alison Krauss is a wonder to witness onstage and an adventurous and fun departure from traditional pop music.

    As Advertised

    by AKUS Fan on 1/23/24

Seen her 3 times, once with Union Station. The venue/ acoustics have a lot to do with the quality of the show, but she always delivers. She is an amazing performer, one of the rare instances in a concert where the entire venue is in an anticipated hush to hear how beautiful the vocals are. She does not play long (typically a little over an hour), but the time that she does play is mesmerizing. A solo show, inside a theater, with a mostly sober crowd, was the best. I hope she continues to tour for many years.

    Incredible!

    by Morgan on 9/5/23

I had the pleasure of seeing Alison Krauss live in concert along with Robert Plant this past July out in the beautiful Berkshires of western Massachusetts (Tanglewood). I can definitively say that this musical performance was one of the best I've ever seen. As a long time, avid Alison Krauss fan, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the collab concert as much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Alison's angelic voice is stunning, but even more so in person. Regardless of the musical genre she engages in, her talent and musical expertise shines across and through all realms of music, not just bluegrass. The skilled instrumental accompaniment captivated me and the entertaining stage presence of Plant combined with Alison's elegance made for a marvelous experience. We all went wild when Alison brought out her fiddle. Truly a fun time. Incredible music in an exceptional place, performed by outstanding musicians and vocalists. Thanks, Ms. Krauss. Please return and bring your bluegrass (with Union Station) to Massachusetts in the future!

    COVID Cancellation

    by Debbi-Anne on 7/19/23

Please reschedule in Greenville, SC. I have dreamed of seeing you in person for so long, and was so disappointed when the Peace Center cancelled the show. I totally got it, but I'm pleading with you to please come back. This is a huge music community that will completely appreciate hearing the most perfect female voice ever.

Love this venue. Intimate and close. Loved Alison Krauss!! She gave me cold chills so many times and also made me cry. The clarity of her voice is amazing. Finishing with "All is well, with my soul" was fantastic!

    Awesome with one exception.

by Jmac on 10/28/19Township Auditorium - Columbia

Artist and show were 5 star awesome! I was a little surprised at how many people were intoxicated around me....at an Alison Krauss concert!! The venue serves all types of alcohol so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
