    Cold Night, Hot Show

by Nemedc on 1/6/15Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Sorry for the delay. The show was 10/18/2011, and here it is 1/6/2015 and I'm just writing a review. I first of AM from the movie Away We Go. I like everything about the show. The intimate setting of Sixth and I, the audience. The other musician was not the person AM tours with yet they played together seamlessly. I waiting for the next show. By the way, I used this concert to get my girlfriend back. It worked!

    OMG Soooo Dreamy

    by shbrooks01 on 10/26/11Antones - Austin

I have been a fan of Alexi for over 5 years, I mean like his biggest fan. I never thought he would come to Texas. When I heard he was coming to Austin at Antones I bought tickets, probably the very first one to buy tickets. Drove 3 hours from Fort Worth and we were 2nd and 3rd in line(he played at a bar, standing room only). Doors opened and i got my spot touching the middle of the stage, I was litteraly the closest person to him, I could touch him. He had a cool opening act and then,,,,,there was Alexi, he started to play...I was mesmerized....his tone is like velvet, his words pure poetry. the best concert ever, i mean ever and i am 52 and have been to hundreds of concerts. the only reason I give him 4 stars is because he did not sing Orange Sky. We all yelled for him to, but he didnt. We are his fans...he works for us, but he ignored us. Made me kinda of sad. However, he is just so dreamy I will forgive him.

INCREDIBLE. Alexi knows how to sooth audiences with his lighthearted attitude. The opener, Kishi Bashi was astounding. I couldn't have asked for a better night.

    Alexi delivered

    by jengee76 on 10/20/11Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

I absolutely loved Alexi's show. He sounds just as amazing in person as on his album. I loved how he changed up some of the songs. I was actually surprised to realize that horn sound I heard on the album was a trombone and it was even more enjoyable in person to hear. The one and only reason I could not give the show 5 stars is because Alexi did not play "Orange Sky" which is my favorite song of his and the one I was expecting and anticipating to hear the whole show. It was a bit disappointing but I can't complain about anything he did play. Alexi is amazing!

Absolutely phenomenal show. Alexi's voice and guitar are beautiful, and he played pretty much everything I was hoping for.

    Meh. Lackluster Performance

by Dontdisappoint on 10/20/11Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Starting almost 2 hours later than the stated time (with a 30 minute warmup act), then putting forth a show that can best be described as listless. The only time Alexi really connected with the audience was expressing his frustration with tuning his guitar. In such an intimate venue, this was a missed opportunity.

    Alexi Murdoch Short-Showed Us

by BarrynDebby on 4/4/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Alexi's live performance was perfectly inspiring--his voice warm, resonating, and on spot. We drove a total of five hours there and back to see him and got MAYBE an hour of performance from him. He didn't play two of the songs that most inspire my husband and me, which he could've definitely fit in as far as time goes. It was a little frustrating for us (and it seems Alexi, too) that a couple people in the front row were shining bright lights from their camera phones in his eyes in order to video his performance. He kindly motioned for them to stop, but they didn't seem to get it. Don't know if that's why we got short-changed or not. Seems like the last night of the US tour would've warranted a full-on performance.

One of my favorite artists, but I got sad when I realized he didn't make the Orange Sky song. Anyway, the location was perfect and the athmosphear, just great.
