About

Disney’s ALADDIN is a dazzling and extravagant showcase of special effects — including a flying magic carpet during “A Whole New World” — as well as glittering-gold costumes and art deco-style sets that mirror the grandeur of a Busby Berkeley musical. One of Broadway’s most popular musical comedies, the show opened at the legendary New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014, and has since broken numerous house records (grossing over $500 million on Broadway). Eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken composed the show’s music. The lyrics are by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), as well as three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice and six-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin. The book is by Beguelin and direction/choreography is by two-time Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw.

    A Family Affair

by K! on 3/16/24New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

Amazing show for the whole family! Even my 3 year old loved it. The vocals, dancing, and magic all well performed. Costume and set changes were spectacular! Surprises and humour throughout! Very entertaining with familiar parts from the original movie with new parts that pulled the story together seamlessly for today’s audience.

    Amazing!

by DNSV on 3/16/24New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

Aladdin was amazing! The floor moving to give genie the magic effect blew my kids away. We loved the pyrotechnics, the confetti, beautiful costumes, mobile sets and fantastic acting and singing. Everything we expected and so much more.

    Magical Experience!

by Brewster429 on 3/12/24New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

The show was magical! We went with girl scouts and the Q&A with the cast after the show was very special. The theater is gorgeous! The only bummer was the upper balcony seats on the side were on a hill and SLOPED. So we were leaning sideways while watching the performance. Flying on the magic carpet was so cool!

It was a whole new world for me

by Stephanie B from Maryland on 3/12/24New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

This was the first time I've seen this play and I was so glad I decided to see it. I saw the actor who plays the genie on Good Morning America and was captivated. We sat on the second row and I was smiling, clapping and laughing throughout the play. Go if you get the chance.

SO creative w/ EXTREME TALENT. Beautifully done! MUST SEE

by Tw on 3/10/24New Amsterdam Theatre - New York

I introduced my boyfriend to broadway about a year ago with the timeless classic Lion King and not surprisingly he loved it! So he wanted to see Allison this time:..I read reviews and they were I guess mostly ok but the negative ones did worry me a bit because I didn’t want to taint his first experience…..I DID NOT HAVE TO WORRY! we both LOVED it. At first we were disappointed that there was no Abu but the creative way Disney made up for that was both hilarious and spectacularly well done with the characters. Everyone raves about the genie (and don’t get me wrong so do I - I literally had to do a double take because the guys is exactly like one my friends - genie is super talented, so enthusiastic and just such a joy to watch and laugh to) BUT let me tell you, the rest of the actors and characters are TOP TIER. Yago the ‘parrot’ was amazing! And let me tell you…Alladin’s voice was indescribable. SUPER SUPER talented people. Stop reading and go book your tickets! Oh and if that didn’t convince you…let me just say… you NEED TO SEE THE MAGIC CARPET RIDE 😍
