Joshua Bell & ASMITF were superb!

by FromGaltsGulch on 5/4/12Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

My husband & I were swept away by the Academy's performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 -- particularly the Prestos. The Academy was in top form. The sound was excellent. Joshua Bell's performance was exact & impassioned. We were spiritually refueled!

It was wonderful to see how Bell managed being both the director and the soloist.

Joshua Bell continues to become better and better, I don't know how this is possible. He is beyond amazing as the musical director of this fine orchestra. Dont miss this performance!

    B E A utiful music

by VictorOfBorge on 4/11/10Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields is world renown for good reason. Their playing is crisp, balanced, and sonorous. Intimate and at the same time powerful, their strings filled Clowes Hall with a rich, almost buttery sound. Julian Rachlin's solo work was exquisite and inspired. This is one of those groups all classical music lovers should hear at least once in person.
