    George Clinton Tribute

    This was an awesome event honoring Funk legend, George Clinton at the Legendary Apollo Theater. George's band, Parliment/Funkadelic anchored the evening's "Funkformance". Other highlights included tributes from Nona Hendryx, Vernon Reid and Shelia E.. Band Leaders, Qwest Love, Paul Shaffer and Bernie Worrell got their Funk on and had everyone in the crowd dancing. All the Funkateers in attendance took the stage, with George leading them in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to Bootsy Collins, who was celebrating his 60th birthday. Truly a night to remember.

    OMGoodness! This show was a benefit for NYC's public hospitals and my expectations were exceeded. Let me say I love George Clinton, Bootsy Collins and Bernie Worrell. I was jammin' to this music back in college and what can I say. The event started on time. Despite the size of the venue, the relationship between the performers was evident and that made the entire night much more convivial and intimate. I got up so many times to move with my favorites: One Nation Under a Groove, Flashlight, etc. - that I was feeling "psychedelic pain" on my middle-age joints the next day but it was all so worth it. Peace. Love. Funk!

    IT WAS ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, FUNKALICIOUS! When Bootsy got off stage to dance and hug his funkateers and when George Clinton, Bootsy, Cornell West and everybody got on stage... it was indeed a funk galore... loved it!

    One of the best concerts that I had attended in years. Ray Chew is the BOMB. I was dancing in the aisle. It was non-stop fun. Bootsy was GREAT!!!
