Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 4/25/17Apollo Theater - New York Rating: 5 out of 5 Best Show of 2017
by nyatty on 4/25/17Apollo Theater - New YorkThe best show in NYC, big or small. A group of terrific artists (dancers and musicians) coming together under Maurice Chestnut and Brinae Ali to create a multi-dimensional piece of art/theater/music/dance. Simply outstanding!

Rating: 5 out of 5 Somi reaches new heights!
by DoctorHawk on 4/26/16Apollo Theater - New YorkSomi has been blazing a brilliant path through different expressions of African music through a blues/jazz lens. Her latest endeavor lives up to that tradition and more so. She pays spiritual and musical homage to Miriam Makeba, while solidly taking the music to places it has not yet been. I was surprised at Somi's acting skills; and amazed (but not surprised) by her musical virtuosity.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Awesome!
by Shellyis on 4/25/16Apollo Theater - New YorkIt was more than I expected. All of the musicians were great! The vocals were unbelievably harmonious. The guitar player made his instrument sing. This is the first time that I had seen this happen. Somi had such an engaging spirit and friendly relationship with the audience through her music. Her voice was so lovely and smooth. The phrasing of certain experiences were exquisite--"kneel with me and listen to the earth." My teenage daughter who is quite the critic also enjoyed listening to Somi which is a very high compliment. We would go to see her again and look forward to the completed work in the future.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Gordon Voidwell
by Wiggylove on 10/18/10Apollo Theater - New YorkLoved the show. Gordon is very talented and charming but Ticketmaster should have more clearly advertised that the show would take place a smaller theatre in the back of the Apollo, not the main hall.
