About

A SUNNY DAY IN GLASGOW IN CONCERT:

Dream pop outfit A Sunny Day in Glasgow have been a wellspring of lush, atmospheric tunes ever since making their debut in 2006 with the Sunniest Day Ever EP. The band's undulating textures and ethereal harmonies take on new dimension at their exhilarating live shows, where all six members dial in an intensity that takes songs like "Shy" and "So Bloody, So Tight" to the next level. In 2014 A Sunny Day in Glasgow released their fourth album Sea When Absent, a multi-dimensional album that really comes alive on their must-see tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

A Sunny Day in Glasgow was formed in Philadelphia in 2006 by Ben Daniels and Ever Nalens. That same year they released their debut EP The Sunniest Day Ever, receiving favorable reviews from bloggers and garnering considerable airplay on college radio. After the departure of Nalens in 2007, the band released their debut album Scribble Mural Comic Journal to widespread praise, landing on numerous year-end lists and embarking on their first US tour. The band continued their run as critical darlings with the albums Ashes Grammar in 2009 and Autumn, Again in 2010, honing their performance chops with extensive touring in support of the releases. With new material hitting record shops in 2014, A Sunny Day in Glasgow have fans eagerly awaiting their next tour dates for all the right reasons.

    Great venue, decent openers

by sshah87 on 12/30/14Rough Trade NYC - Brooklyn

There were two openers: Wins and Ava Luna. Wins were a pleasant surprise, given that it was their first ever show, and Ava Luna was alright. A Sunny Day in Glasgow played a very fun, energetic set. My only complaint about the show is that the sets were a bit short (about 35 minutes for each opener and 45 for ASDiG), but overall the show was enjoyable.

A Sunny day in Glasgow was really very sunny!

by MsDolly10 on 11/7/10Mercury Lounge - New York

I really enjoyed this band and I have never seen them live before! I can really recommend to go and see them! Unfortunately the opening band was a totally different genre and I almost left before the main act because it was just not my music and too different to the main act.
