About

GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, an heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by—you guessed it—eliminating the eight pesky relatives who stand in his way. All the while, Monty has to juggle his mistress (she’s after more than just love), his fiancée (she’s his cousin but who’s keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance… and be done in time for tea. The Hollywood Reporter raves, “GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE RESTORES OUR FAITH IN MUSICAL COMEDY” and The New York Times cheers, “IT WILL LIFT THE HEARTS OF ALL THOSE WHO’VE BEEN PINING FOR WHAT SOMETIMES SEEMS A LOST ART FORM.” Kindly get your tickets now for the musical that will have you dying with laughter.

    Unforgettable Musical of Getting Ahead

by marchingmyers on 5/24/18Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

This was an amazing musical! The songs were great and the characters memorable. The story has the right combination of macabre humor and humanity that has the audience laughing at the deaths of each family member; my favorite was the death of Lady Salome D'Ysquith Pumphrey. My husband, who doesn't enjoy musicals, enjoyed this one; he even took the time to look up the music after seeing the show. That's how great this show is, it will have people who don't enjoy musicals fall in love.

The Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder was definitely the highlight of our trip to Boise. We loved every minute of it. If the music was available, we would buy it.

Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder

by mongo44 on 5/9/18Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

The sound system was absolutely atrocious. In the third row, center of the loge, we could hear but not understand. All the musical lyrics were impossible to decipher. Some of the spoken word was, but only 20%. So we had no idea what was happening, unless the cast was doing pantomime. The cast was energetic and did excellent pantomime. Their singing was in Tuen and well ktimed with the pantomime, so this was not their fault. The soundboard needed a complete reset. We had friends on the right side of loge -row A -who had same issue and left at intermission. It was very disappointing, especially since I have little idea what actually was happening in the show.

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder!

by Sagira on 5/8/18Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Sensational! It was one of the best shows that I've seen in a very long time. Clever. Intriguing. And talent beyond expectation. I wished that we had seen it earlier in the week as we would have loved to have seen it again before it left town. Truly fabulous!

    To many soprano voices

by Coloradopine on 5/6/18Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

We had Excellent seats; 3rd row center in loge section. With these good seats you would think we could hear everything. Wrong. Much of the singing was high pitched and not very clear. We had to guess who she was saying. We got the gist of the play just missed out on the details. The falsetto voices were the same, not enough enunciation. The premise looked good, but that is only an outline. The fun is in the details.

    FANTASTIC

by epcotguy on 4/27/18OPAC - Oxford

I highly recommend this show to anyone who loves comedy, musicals, and British humor. I've been a fan of this show for several years and was finally able to see it in person this weekend. Terrific cast and set. See it if you get a chance. Very little language (except for a few sexual references). Do yourself a favor and see this masterpiece when it comes to a city near you.

    Enjoyed thoroughly

by Anonymous on 4/14/18E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - Akron

The show was wonderful. The actor’s voices were top notch. Went expecting a great time but was even surprised by how much we enjoyed it. The special things they did with the set were our favorite. So very clever. Would recommend everyone to go see this show. One negative thing was the spotlights were off at times and caused the viewing to be rough. Other then the lighting issues that we witnessed we loved the venue and the show.
