    Wonderful

by NotforJeff on 10/11/10Gaillard Auditorium - Charleston

What a pleasant evening was spent last Friday at the CSO 75th anniversary. All three musical selection were beautiful. Beethovan's 9th was superb. The Gaillard Auditorium is a perfect venue for such events. Seating is comfortable and goo visibility. Hope no changes are made to it in the future.

    Charleston Symphony does it right!

by RobertLM on 10/10/10Gaillard Auditorium - Charleston

It is not often you hear the entire 9th Symphony with a full chorus and an excellent orchestra, An outstanding performance. The soloists were very good and the almost sell-out crowd couldn't stop their applause. The two Russian selections before intermission were very well done and set the tone for Beethoven.

    Charleston Symphony is Incredible!

by Dickieladd on 10/10/10Gaillard Auditorium - Charleston

This was a very emotional night -- full house, 75th anniversery. All three selections were outstanding -- but nothing can surpass Beethoven's 9th!! Charleston needs this very hight calibar symphony to continue! Don't miss a performance!

    treasure the treasures!

by symphfan on 10/10/10Gaillard Auditorium - Charleston

What a great concert! It was made great by the treasures we have in the members of the CSO (at least those who are still here). We heard them leading the strings and playing solos in the winds. They had lots of support, of course, but they were the ones we need to keep here when (not IF) the CSO resumes a regular season. The concert program needed the large number of musicians, but without the talented members of the CSO, there would not have been an evening to treasure. Treasure those treasures!

Thoroughly enjoyable. Too bad it may only be a one time event.

by dglace on 10/10/10Gaillard Auditorium - Charleston

I thought the CSO performance was awesome. I was the best the string section has ever sounded thanks to Yuriy Bekker the Concertmaster.... Bravo.. The first 2 pieces were great but the Beethoven's Nineth was incredible..
