    50 Shades Musical Parody

by RiquiX on 1/21/15Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

With this cast, the recently-closed "Fifty Shades, the Musical" was very funny--well sung and acted, great pacing. I admired the simple set design. Great dancing.

    Superficial and uninteresting

by Crell on 1/21/15Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This is the second 50-shades parody musical I've seen, and the weaker of the two. The plot is a caricature of the books, and not a particularly deep one, with an uninteresting framing story. The music is decent and the dancing frequently good, but overall I was just waiting for it to end. None of the characters interested me. What's more, the treatment of BDSM was at best sarcastic and at worst insulting. It was very much a "those weirdos" presentation of it, at least the little of it that was involved. If you can, go see "Spank" instead. Much better story, characters, and music.

If you have read the book, you've got to see this play! We laughed all of the way through!

    Hilarious

by andja10 on 1/21/15Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This parody is so much fun! We had amazing time. I went with two girlfriends and muscles in our faces hurt from laughing. Also, perfect length. Not to long, just over an hour. There's a little, just enough, interaction with the audience, and I loved it.

    meh

by Anonymous on 1/21/15Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The concept is great, the play was more like a high school production. Sorry that I paid so much for so little set production, cast, costume (OMG the wigs were horrific!) All in all, not worth the hassle and parking fee.

The play was really done well. There were a few spots over the top, however the play was REALLY funny. I would suggest seeing it.
