    Hedonism-lite

by ieduk8 on 11/26/11Luxor Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

The event was a 2-day metal show with a fabulous line-up, however I don't think it was planned very well. There was no way to see the second stage if you had a good view of the main stage, therefore fully half the bands were impossible to enjoy. Also, one couldn't carry in water bottles and it was difficult to reach the vendors once the crowd assembled. This was better addressed Sunday when vendors walked thru the crowd. Overall, the music was fabulous and I really got a lot of rock on.

This event was awesome! I had an amazing time and got to see a lot of my favorite artists all in one place! The food was pretty good with decent prices, though the drinks were a bit much... Overall this event was organized very well and I hope to see this happen again year after year!

by Adri0712 on 11/1/11Luxor Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

Good times! It was probably the best it could be for the type of concert that it was. Lots of food, bathrooms were portal patty's.....but the venue was great! A concert in Vegas?! Yeah! The promoters did an awesome job!

First 48 Hours Festival was awesome!

by TakingDawn8 on 10/29/11Luxor Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

This was the first 48 Hours Festival so there were a few problems. The stage set up was horrible. If you did not want to loose your front row spot at the main stage, you did not get to see any bands that played on the second stage. The port-a-poties were disgusting pretty much the whole time and the sink were always out of water. It wasn't clear whether re-entry was allowed or not. The prices on everything were outragous. Water was $4, beer was $10 Other than those things, the music and bands were unforgetable. It was one big party and I would do it all again.

    AWSOME SHOW!!!

by xiuhcoatl77 on 10/29/11Luxor Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

I thoght the concert was incredible. The music, the people, the energy. I had a great time. I only wish the bands would have played longer sets. On the other hand, the brunch at the beach at mandaly bay? Didn't go off at all. I went with a few others that were there, and there was no dj and no brunch. What happen?

    Harsh Lesson Learned!

by Rozzomamma on 10/29/11Luxor Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

I flew in from the Midwest just for this show and had the Godfather VIP ticket to make it a memorable weekend. It was, but not all good memories. The bands were great, Hollywood Undead is a new favorite and Seether my staple. The staff all around was great, really enjoyed the interaction with them. The VIP "status", not so much. I wasn't expecting a lot, but I was expecting what was marketed. I see a lot of cattle where I live and being herded in and out of our seats after each set, I knew then just how the cattle feel. I understand there were to be hiccups along the way for the inaugural event, I just didn't fathom they would be as blatant and as many as there were. I will not be going back nor will my friends. The redeeming factor of the debacle that was the 48 Hours Festival Godfather VIP tragedy? Getting my photo taken with Shaun Morgan of Seether.

The VIP package was a complete joke!

by StasiaWeb on 10/26/11Luxor Festival Grounds - Las Vegas

I might have liked the concert more if I hadn't spent the extra money for a VIP upgrade. The bands were pretty good - Godsmack completely owned the stage and showed everyone else how it was done and Avenged Sevenfold was also amazing. But the seats for VIP were further away than all the general admission seats. I knew the number would be limited, but there were about 20 total seats and it seemed like at least a hundred VIPs. On Saturday, no one could tell us how to get our laminates, collectable tickets or t-shirts. Everyone we asked had a different answer, including the management of the place. Then, on Sunday, we got our stuff but by then almost all the larger sizes of t-shirts were sold out so we still didn't get everything we expected. The drinks were a little cheaper in the VIP tent, but not enough to make it worth the extra price. They could have at least elevated the VIP area. Or if that wasn't possible, not having a big black barrier between the VIP area and the stage would have helped - you couldn't see the stage from most of the places in the VIP area. Overall, the upgrade to VIP was a complete waste of money and I'd never do it again.
