    Still got it

by 12powerhouse on 12/7/23ilani Cowlitz Ballroom - Ridgefield

Even after all these years Dane Cook still has it! He is a fantastic story teller and was a great show. The venue was awful though! Brand new multi million $$ venue with a flat floor so you're stuck staring at the back of people's heads. They need a new venue and bad!

    Horrible nite

by Mike M on 12/6/23The Wilbur - Boston

Thought that we would give Dane one more chance. After the last time we saw him his act is consistently going downhill. He has no prepared material. He spent the night picking on people in the crowd which all that says is he had no material he’s resting on his laurels from his success from many years ago. The second opening act was best part of the evening. The first opening act, forgot his own lines! they should go back and watch his old videos and see how he controlled and had fun with the crowd with his storytelling. And the overload of swearing is totally unnecessary again it shows it has no material.! My party of four got up and walked out. Halfway through a show met other people in the lobby. They were leaving as well found them to be mean, totally unfunny, and not prepared. probably never spend money to see this man again it’s too bad. He was a once the funniest man on the planet ,he’s mailed it in.

Fun, but not as funny as before

by ChiefBryan on 12/5/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - Orlando

This was the 3rd time I've seen Dane in concert. The previous two times were at the height of his popularity, when he was headlining arenas. Needless to say (though I'm still saying it), it's been a minute between this one and the last one. Yeah, I'm older and that young blood in me is older now...but so is he. I think what worked well for him in his younger days just makes him seem like the weird uncle these days. Like the one who just goes on a little too long in a story after getting a laugh or two from your cousins at the dinner table. I chuckled a little, but the timing was just off...or maybe I've just moved on in terms of what I find funny now. I definitely had enough cocktails that I should've been laughing with snot coming out of my nose and tears pouring from my eyes...but I snickered and smiled a little instead, more in the memory of where I was in life when he told similar jokes than where I was now. I saw Chappelle at a similar point a few years back and look where he is now. I sincerely hope Dane finds his mojo and returns to form but, sadly, I'll just wait and see before I head back out to see him live again.

    Disappointed

by JB on 11/28/23The Wilbur - Boston

Dane was a surprise opener for Chappelle a month ago. After that, I almost sold my tickets to this show as it was more expensive than Dave, but he was great opening for Dave so I kept them. The crowd at the show, on Thanksgiving weekend, was lubed up and rowdy. Dane opened with some riffs and because of the crowd, seemed to keep that going. Thing is, his crowd work wasn't very good and it felt like he didn't do any written material, and the little written material he did do were the same bits from a month earlier, but they were shoe horned in via his crowd work, instead of following any kind of flow. Overall, my expectations were left "perfectly shattered,"in a bad way.

    Good but not great....

by JMC on 11/28/23The Wilbur - Boston

The show was good, but not great. Particularly considering the price I paid for our tickets. At times it felt like Dane was just phoning it in. I have seen him several times before and had to literally wipes tears from my eyes from the laughter. Unfortunately, my eyes were dry during this whole show. Also, the Wilbur is a terrible theatre. For this show we purchased the VIP package to be on the floor, and not in the cramped seats. What we got were tiny bar stools, packed together with no room to move. It's just an awful place.

    Not funny !

by Hut on 11/27/23The Wilbur - Boston

Dane along with his opening act were simply not funny. Many folks walked out. There were some people laughing but I have to admit it appeared to be “planted”, crazy forced loud laughs. The middle act was very funny and gave us hope after the opener. Long drawn out stories that had NO punch line. Lots of $ and not worth it. I hope Dane can find a way back into the saddle… and I do hope he is really trying and not just mailing it in and living off past success (which he happens to mention MANY times).

    I don't get it?

by Carole D on 11/27/23The Wilbur - Boston

I've always loved Dane. By far my favorite. His show was just strange. More of a sorted life story ...and the Combat zone? No one under 65 gets that reference and it went on and on. The comedian Drew was excellent. We still had a good night, but not what I expected.

Dane cook was awesome, seating not so much

by Jayjay on 11/19/23ilani Cowlitz Ballroom - Ridgefield

Dane cook and his opening guests were hilarious. It was a great time, the seating at ilani was awful. Stuffed together like sardines. Flying in a plane gives you more space. If someone in your row needed in or out then everyone before the needed seat would have to move. The chairs were basically metal with tiny cushions. They need to upgrade the space and comfort before I come back
