About

A Revolution on Stage.  Reykjavik rocks New York as Iceland’s critically acclaimed indie rock concept album is brought to life at the Minetta Lane! This surreal and philosophical story is of a small and somewhat naïve nation located in the elbow of Ragnar Agnarsson and their desire for greatness. Roiled by passion and great ambition what will this once-idyllic community find... riches, ruin or redemption?

    Outstanding!

by Finnswood on 9/25/14Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

Unsure of what to expect from the title, we were very pleasantly surprised with the satirical humor. The entire musical was fun and entertaining with not-so-subtle parallels between our world and Elbowville. My only regret was not seeing it early enough to return with more friends. I hope this musical reopens sometime soon, I'd see it again without hesitation.

Revolution In the Elbow was awesome!

by BeaconPaul on 9/23/14Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

Revolution In the Elbow of Ragnar Agnarsson Furniture Painter was fantastic primarily because of the talent involved with the show. Cady Huffman, Kate Schindle and Super-Star-To-Be Marrick Smith were all amazing! Marrick Smith, in particular, is a triple threat performer who is destined for great things. The show closed on September 20th and those that missed it missed a real happening. Was it quirky and off beat? Yes, it was. Was it entertaining? Most definitely. We saw it 4 times and it never got old. Super fun night! We were also very impressed with the design aspects of the production. Costumes were amazing as were the special effects and lighting.

    Missed the mark...

by DrAPNYC on 9/22/14Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

They tried hard to pull this off but the acting was amateur, the singing was average, and the play offered no emotion or feeling. Choreography was about a good high school play level. The play was not engaging. The scenery, costumes, and use of lighting was clever.

The revolution in the elbow of Ragnar furniture pa

by Toffuti on 9/22/14Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

It was pretty bad and It wasn't because of the talent. It was just a horrible concept and it dragged. I felt bored and wasn't the only one who thought this. The other three people I was with felt exactly the same. Luckily it wasn't that expensive!

At least it was in the village

by lady105 on 9/15/14Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

This show had a good story (concept was cute). The music (rock) was good, band excellent. Actors, singers, dancers, excellent! But the lyrics did not fit w/the music and it just threw off the whole show. At least I got to go to my favorite bagel place on 6th. Ave. so it was worth the trip.

    interesting and descriptive title

by b731 on 9/2/14Minetta Lane Theatre - New York

Amusing play making fun of the financial collapse in Iceland. Enthusiastic cast with good script and music. No tunes you will be humming on the way home, but the play works and holds ones interest. Very Icelandic and fun for me because I had been to Iceland in July.

Clever and outstanding explanation of what happened in Iceland in 2008. The choreography and lyrics matched the excellent unfolding of the story.

    Strange, but good.

by PrinceValiant on 8/7/14Minetta Lane Theater - NEW YORK

I saw last night's preview of this weirdly titled show. Overall it was smart, funny and the music is absolutely fantastic. It took me a while to get the story, it's set inside the elbow of a middle aged couch potato, which seemed strange at first, but made perfect sense when the story progressed. Cady Huffman, Kate Shindle and a guy called Marrick Smith lead the cast and were all great. For me it was a breath of fresh air, absurd humor combined with very good rock music. Very entertaining.

    So disappointing...

by ThisGuyOvaHere on 8/4/14Minetta Lane Theater - Brooklyn

I saw this on one of the first nights of previews They may later address some of the problems, but IDK. I'll try & keep the review short: I really wanted to like this show. Sadly, the great music couldn't overcome the many other problems. The actor's 'singing voices' were atrocious #especially the main characters#. As good as the instrumentals are, they weren't enough to make up for the many other problems. The book #script# was almost as bad; It has more problems then I can begin to list. The worst part is that the show could have been great if it was done properly... Instead I'd say over a quarter of the audience left during the intermission; That goes to show just had bad it really was. #whoever gave this play a 5 star review is likely doing it just for hype#
